Challenge

In order to build self esteem – you need to train your brain to think more positively about yourself, and in order to do this you need to practice.

You can practice by thinking about and writing down things that you like about yourself. It may seem difficult in the beginning, but with practice it gets easier the more you do it.

So, for all of my my lovely readers – I got a challenge for you! Stop and think for a second and write down five things that you like about yourself  in your blog, and challenge your readers to do the same. If you don’t have a blog of your own and still like to take part,  post a comment with all those sweet thoughts about yourself.

I shall start -

5 things I like about myself

- my ambitious drive, I make things happen.

- my ability to laugh and be funny

- my GREAT legs

- my ability to somewhat being able to control my mind

- I am a good friend, sister and daughter. I try to be there for other people rather than self obsessively worry about myself too much. It’s about giving a little bit of yourself rather than demanding the world to give to you.

Right then, over to you! What do you like about yourself today?

  1. Is it ok to lie? I mean, I would like to say that I like my body, but there is still a few things I don’t like about it. But if I do say it, I guess I will convice myself that my body is fine just the way it is.

I’ll accept your challenge after work!

Johanna – of course it is! Even if you don’t truly believe it , act as if you are, and write it down. This is what we call ‘Fake it to make it’ and it is very effective. :)

  3. Just what I thought. Thanks! ;)

“Fake it to make it” sounds awfully like avoidance/denial/etc. I *genuinely* like that:

    1. I am good at solving all kinds of abstract problems.
    2. I am a good guitarist.
    3. I am a slim 6′0″.
    4. I quit smoking (8 years ago) with no help or fuss. Similarly I like that I don’t drink (despite wasting my entire 20s in pubs).
    5. I keep myself well-informed and well-read.

Vebmester – Fake it to make it might seem weird but it actually work. I will write another post on this subject – it is very easy to fool the brain by pretending. Good luck!
